We are the first company in Australia ever to develop and produce the approved intrinsically safe laser (the LS1) for use in underground coal mining, and we have been supplying the NSW and Queensland (QLD) Coal Mines with Intrinsically Safe (I.S.) Lasers for 20 years. With our first model intrinsically safe laser the LS1 which is still in service today, we have further developed this product to now provide the industry a higher quality and reliable product with better features and aftermarket support.

View our new range of IECEx ia certified intrinsically safe lasers for the Coal Mining industry. The Intrinsically Safe Lasers IEC EX ia are Certified for Group I - Coal, and Group II – for other Hazardous Areas, such as Oil and Gas and Chemical Plants Ex ia I/IIC T3 IP55.

LD-25 Intrinsically Safe Laser: SIM 13 - 0004 IEC EX ia I/IIC T3 / T4

Stott Industrial LD 25 Intrinsically Safe Lasers This is the smallest laser in our new range. The LD25 is IEC EX ia Certified as an Intrinsically Safe Laser for use in underground coal mining and other hazardous areas. Designed to fit into the older Hexagonal Designed mounts. This smallest I.S. Laser (LD-25X-635P) is designed to be used up to a distance of 150 metres.

Stott Industrial LD 25 Intrinsically Safe Lasers The LD 35 is our mid-sized laser. It is IEC EX ia Certified as an Intrinsically Safe Laser and excels past the previously developed SLX IEC EX ia I/IIB 136 Deg C, SIM 09-0005. This new LD-35 I.S. Laser has a longer range and Longer Battery Life, than that SLX. The LD-35 Laser is designed to be used up to 150 metres.

Laser has a longer range and Longer Battery Life, than that SLX. The LD-35-G Laser is designed to be used up to 200 metres.

Stott Industrial Intrinsically Safe Lasers The largest laser in our range, the LD60 is IEC EX ia Certified as an Intrinsically Safe Laser. This is now the Coal Mining Industry STANDARD, with more than 150 units in service in NSW and Queensland underground coal mines and has a range of 300 meters.

The history behind our Intrinsically Safe Lasers

1990 First IS Laser Developed

CLOE (Centre for Lasers & Opto Electronics) and Stott industrial partner to jointly develop LS1, the first intrinsically safe laser for underground coal.

1995 The next model

Stotts Staff detailed engineering changes needed for the ART Laser to make it suitbale for Coal mining.

2011 Lets Start Again

New owners of Stott Industrial removes ART. Due to poor quality control, inefficient supply and bad aftermarket service and support, Stott industrial was left with no Choice but to find a more viable manufacturing partner for the future of its intrinsically safe lasers.

2012 The new partnership

Stott Industrial partners with MCE a high quality and well respected manufacturer of lasers for multiple industries, as its new manufacturing partner and developer.
