The difference between the Kirkpatrick wire rope lubricators

September 4, 2017Kirkpatrickst0tt_@dm1n

Wire ropes are considered an integral part of many structures. Often made of steel, wire ropes consist of continuous wire strands twisted around a central core. They are found in various applications such as in cranes, elevators, excavation, mining and construction where they are used for pulling, dragging or hoisting.

While wire ropes are far stronger than many other types of ropes and are seemingly unbreakable, they can give in to the pressure of continual use and may snap eventually. If you want to extend the service life of your wire rope, make sure you perform proper maintenance.

Creating the world’s first wire rope lubrication systems, the Kirkpatrick Group offers top-notch rope lubricants specially formulated to give users the most outstanding protection possible to withstand a wide range of applications and severe working conditions.

The Kirkpatrick’s line up of wire rope lubricants include:

Dynagard Blue™ Environmental Wire Rope Lubricant

The Dynagard Blue is an unleaded, environmentally friendly lubricant that provides exceptional protection under extreme working environments. It has extreme pressure, water resistant properties that leave a slick, gel-like, non-sheening coat that can last for an extended period of time.

The powerful chemical and structural characteristics of Dynagard Blue can combat softening, water wash-off, and wear and shock loads. They also avoid fling-off when wire rope travels at high speed as well as damage when exposed in a high temperature environment.

Compatible with all Kirkpatrick wire rope lubrication systems and manual applications, the Dynagard Blue can penetrate and lubricate the deepest strands of any wire rope.

Dynagard Blue CSS13™ Environmental Wire Rope Lubricant

The Dynagard CSS13 is a heavy duty coating product comprised of highly viscous base oil and specialised chemicals, formulated to withstand the intense pressure of any marine environment. With its superior water repellent properties, the Dynagard CSS13 can endure water wash-off and fight off rust in both salt and freshwater environments.

Its unique formula also offers excellent adhesion performance against fling-off at high-speed wire travel. It can also prevent friction wear inside the wire rope. For any critical workloads that can lead to high degree of friction wear, the Dynagard CSS13 is the ideal maintenance product. Plus, it works well in a multitude range of temperature, stopping the softening or hardening of the wire rope in extreme working conditions.

Dynagard E™ Environmental Wire Rope Lubricant

The Dynagard E is the world’s first highly viscous, seed oil-based grease that is 97 per cent biodegradable. Examined by third party laboratories, the results showed that Dynagard E contains components that are environmentally friendly.

This revolutionary, non-toxic lubricant offers a high level fluid film performance and corrosion protection for a broad range of wire ropes. Besides manual applications, The Dynagard E is ideal for all Kirkpatrick wire rope lubrication system models. Not only it is safe, it also provides optimum coating and penetration, extending the operational life of wire ropes.

Dynagard LVL™ Wire Rope Lubricant

Dynagard LVL is specifically designed for use in both marine and mining environments. For industries where a quick penetrating product is needed, the Dynagard LVL leaves a tight semi-fluid coating with low fling off adhesive attributes. This is crucial for high-speed wire rope travel where fling off is likely to happen.

When applied with the Kirkpatrick JUL, Jumbo and Standard Systems, the Dynagard LVL absorbs and adheres the exterior strands and repels moisture, hence preventing strand binding and corrosion from occurring. It is also the recommended product for mine friction hoist where slippage is a safety issue. The Dynagard LVL not only improves a wire rope’s flexibility and life, it also keeps maximum performance in both dry and high humidity and/or saltwater environments.
