At Stott Engineering and Fluid Film Australia, we like to give back to the communities we work in. This year, that meant supporting a young athlete with a big dream: Madi Benfell, who travelled to Montreal, Canada in July to compete in the very first AIA Global Tournament for Cheerleading and Dance.
A world first, and a world-class result
After Madi’s team, Revs, won 1st place at the State Championships, they received a bid to the world’s first AIA Global Championships. The event brought together 60 teams from 19 countries.
Over five days, Revs competed against eight teams from several countries, made it through to the Championship Round and finished 3rd in the world. 🥉🌎
For Madi, who is only 14, it was a chance to represent her club, her country, her teammates and her family on the world stage.
Why we got behind her
Cheerleading is growing fast in Australia and catching up with the rest of the world. Events like this show what young Australian athletes can do, and the cost of getting a team overseas is no small thing for a family. We were glad to help make the trip possible.
Madi sent us a thank-you card after she got home, and we’re proud to share it here:
“Thank you for helping make this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity possible. Your support means so much to me and my family, and I am incredibly grateful. Thank you for believing in my dream and supporting my journey!”
— Madi 💚🖤
Congratulations, Madi and the Revs, on a fantastic result. We can’t wait to see what’s next.
Stott Engineering and Fluid Film Australia are proud to support community groups, clubs and young people in our local area.
